Original raw material origin of our coco peat comes from high-quality tropical coconut planting bases. We select mature coconut fruits grown in tropical coastal planting areas with sufficient sunlight, abundant rainfall and fertile sandy soil. The local tropical climate enables coconut palms to grow healthily, producing thick, well-developed outer fibrous husks with low salt content and high organic matter content. After local farmers harvest coconuts for edible coconut meat and drinking coconut water, the thick outer husks are collected as the exclusive raw material for making coco peat bricks. In the whole industrial chain, coconut husk is a natural agricultural byproduct instead of waste material. Reusing husks realizes circular resource utilization, without cutting wetlands or destroying primitive ecological environment, which is the core eco-friendly advantage of our coco products.
Strict raw material manual screening and primary classification guarantee basic product quality. Collected fresh coconut husks will go through double selection process before formal processing. Workers firstly remove rotten, mildewed, insect-eaten and immature thin husks, and pick out sundries such as coconut shells, dead leaves, soil and gravel mixed in raw materials. Qualified intact coconut husks are piled up for natural outdoor retting and aging for 20 to 40 days. This natural aging step softens hard fiber tissue inside husks, decomposes partial natural crude salt, reduces bitter organic substances, and improves the water absorption and looseness of final coco peat. Most low-cost manufacturers skip natural aging, leading to high salt content, hard texture and poor plant adaptability of cheap coco bricks.
Fiber separation and multi-cycle desalination washing are the core processing steps to distinguish high-grade coco bricks. After natural aging, husks are sent to fully automatic mechanical splitting equipment to separate long coarse coir fiber and fine coco pith. Long coir fiber is used for making coir rope and gardening mat, while fine soft coco pith is the core material for compressed coco bricks. The screened coco pith contains natural soluble salt, which is harmful to sensitive plant root growth. Therefore, we adopt 3 to 5 times circulating running water washing to rinse excess soluble chloride salt and alkaline substances. Compared with one-time simple water washing, multi-times washing lowers product EC value steadily, makes the substrate neutral weak acid, suitable for flowers, vegetables, succulents and greenhouse crop rooting growth.

Dehydration, impurity removal and constant-temperature drying optimize finished substrate performance. After reaching standard low salt index, cleaned coco pith is sent to mechanical filter press for dehydration treatment to control proper water content. Then ultra-fine air screening equipment removes tiny sand, broken fiber and residual impurities again, making coco peat fine, uniform and powdery. We adopt low-temperature hot air drying instead of high-temperature baking, which protects natural organic fiber structure, retains original microbial activity and water retention ability. No chemical fertilizer, bactericide, dye or additive is added in the whole drying process. Our coco bricks keep original natural color, will not hurt plant roots, and are safe for organic vegetable planting and edible herb cultivation.
Compression molding, batch testing and export-grade packaging complete finished production. Purified qualified coco peat is compressed into standard-size compact bricks via high-pressure environmental-friendly molding machines. Compressed bricks reduce bulk volume greatly, cutting sea transportation cost and saving warehouse storage space. Every production batch is tested on EC value, pH value, impurity rate, water expansion ratio and bacteria content in our independent lab. Unqualified products will be rewashed and reprocessed strictly. Finished coco bricks are packed with waterproof breathable plastic film, avoiding moisture absorption, mildew and damage during long-distance ocean shipping.
