After adding 0.8% diatomaceous earth powder to the aeration tank, the concentration of suspended solids (SS) in the effluent decreased from 25 mg/L to less than 10 mg/L, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal rate increased from 85% to 92%, and the ammonia nitrogen removal rate increased from 78% to 88%. All indicators met the national first-class A emission standard.
